Excellent food, and prices, and staff.

Good food. Nice diner. Have been here for breakfast a couple of times and haven't ever been disappointed.

Their burgers and cheeseburgers are phenomenal. Food portions are pretty generous too. Coffee is good but not great. The decor is aging quickly. The place is clean and there is a parking lot.

This is a great place to eat and there is great service. The food is delicious and the waiters are very friendly. It is a good place for family. I would definitely go back, it is worth it.

Nice quiet place, for us old folks

I was only here once but had a great experience. Would have given 4 stars but I'm vegan and there weren't a lot of options. Like one actually. Just so happens the veggie burger was delish. Had it without the bun with carmelized onions on top. They served it with a chopped salad on the side. Service was attentive and they have free parking, a clean bathroom which count for a lot in my book.

Old school diner with old school wait staff. Ready to take your order correctly feed you and bring you your check. See you next Sat.

After reading so many reviews I decided to come by but unfortunately I’ll never ever visit this place again. The French toast don’t have anything common with a real French toast the eggs are horrible. Orange juice its more water then juice. And on top of that expensive. When I asked to pay by cc the waitress ask me how I’ll leave a tip to her. Whattttt. Horrible place for breakfast. There are a lot of better places around the area to have a breakfast.

To early morning for food taste nasty not fresh and salty to much salt water taste nasty and coffe as well ,waiter keep coughing on top of the food in his clothes his clothes was dirty and nasty looking give a bad impression i when to the bathroom to omgoodness horrible crazy

The food is ok, and the staff is nice. The prices are too high. They do have a decent parking lot.

Shalimar Diner is one of my favorite diners in Rego Park, my favorite thing to get from the diner is the Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries. The service is awesome, best restaurant. I really like going with my parents and my sister. I take them out for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Shalimar Diner. It's really not that far from my house either.

Servers were wonderful and the place had a nice ambiance. I gave it 2 stars NC the bathrooms smelled like urine. The place was not full, maybe 3 tables at best with 1 to 2 people. So there is no excuse why the bathrooms were in that form. It was nasty. I ordered cheeseburger deluxe medium well. My burger was burnt..chard the bottom portion, my soda had a led taste to it. I ate as much as I could. The presentation of the food was very nice and gives the illusion of a yummy meal. I am sure they would have exchanged it, had I said something. However, after spending 15hrs in the emergency room, I was just to tired to put up an argument or wait for another dish. I will try it again soon to see if I have a better experience. Stay tuned.

Have gone a few times, waiters were exceptionally nice but the hostess was very rude to them all three times I have gone which is not something I want to listen to while eating. She needs to learn that she doesn't own the place and is also MIDDLE AGED. Will not be coming back.

Classic diner experience offering a great selection of food served quickly and efficiently by a great wait staff. Breakfast served all day. Cozy comfortable dining room.

Whenever we are in the area we make sure we eat there. The food and service is very good. The owner stops at the table to talk with us.

If I could only express what I went through, but here is what I have to say... If you like pubic hair in your plate this is the place to go. This was shocking what I saw in mine. People just save your time and money ...Do not go!!! :-(

This diner has outdated decor and the usual diner food. Usually have light meals here. Asked to substitute onion rings for fries and was told the cook will never do it even if I pay extra. Thought this was very odd and quirky. Food came quickly and was satisfactory. I will probably go to a diner that will be more accommodating to customer wants.

Staff is very friendly. Food is hearty and very tasty. Not a fancy restaurant but just perfect regardless. Soups are excellent. Do try the Goulash!

This old neighborhood staple has gone downhill.To begin, we waited over 10 minutes for anyone to come to the table. The prices are ridiculous for a diner, and the good was barely subpar. I'll be sticking with the Metro Diner in Middle Village.

Be aware. This business has sneaky and dishonest practices when billing. Check carefully the prices in the menu and make sure before ordering. The waitstaff doesn't know how to treat a customer. Once they overcharged me for a drink.

It's a nice diner. It's pretty big too. The food is typical Greek diner food. My only problem was that the dish washer should have been fired. The beer mug I got had 2 black specs of whatever on it, and a few of the cutleries were also dirty! That unfortunately ruined it for me.

It's my hometown and I always get good courteous and respectable service. The food is always fresh. The food is very tasty. And very affordable.

This is an old school classic American diner. They serve up diner food so what do you expect out of it ? stick to what you know when it comes to ordering diner food and you won't be upset. Service is friendly and quick. Fun fact: sit in the booth where they filmed wolf of Wall Street so you can pretend like you're Leonardo dicaprio and Jonah hill.

Very good food and very large portions. Enough for 2 dinners. Plus everything is included soup or salad, entrée and sides and desert. Not to mention the pickles, bread, and beet salad which they give you when you sit down.

After reading the reviews, I was really looking forward to going to this diner but I was having a hard time finding the address. I used the library across the street as a reference and after driving around for 15 minutes, I saw a big empty lot where it was suppose to be. EVIDENTLY, IT'S CLOSED FOR GOOD. Someone should update this on Google Maps.
